Container Transhipment Operations in Eastern Canada

Transport Canada

CPCS assessed short sea shipping operations in the region and the reasons for their success/failure. The team profiled all marine and port facilities in Eastern Canada, including vessel types handled, rail, and road connections. CPCS then assessed the feasibility of hub-and-spoke containers and roll-on-roll-off transshipment operations and marine freight movements (short sea shipping) across the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway system.
