Challenge
The challenge was crafting a practical sustainability framework that strikes a balance between creating economic growth and minimizing ecological impact to support our client, the central coordinator and delivery organization leading RBGP.
Solutions
CPCS delivered a comprehensive solution, which included a review of global best practices to align RBGP with world-class sustainability standards, 15 key commitments and guiding principles, clear targets and metrics for monitoring progress, and an actionable strategy to integrate renewable energy, noise barriers, wildlife passages, and eco-friendly technologies throughout the project lifecycle.
Impact
Spanning almost 900 km, the sustainability strategy that CPCS designed will help reduce carbon emissions, enhance passenger and freight connectivity, and support the European Union’s green transition goals. The RBGP sets a new benchmark for economically viable and environmentally responsible large-scale rail infrastructure, which will leave a lasting positive impact on the Baltic region.
