Below you’ll find information about what we do (and don’t do) with user information. This page is only an overview of your rights and our commitments. You’ll find more details about privacy rights in the country you live in.
Basic analytical information
We don’t use data to trace website visits back to individuals. You can use our website without giving us any personal information. If you are one of our anonymous visitors, please note that we may still record certain basic analytical information.
This includes the type of browser, device, time zone, most viewed web pages and what websites or search terms referred you to our website. We do not collect IP addresses.
We collect this basic analytical information through cookies and Google Analytics.
Cookies are useful to:
- Improve and optimize website design
- Understand how visitors use a website
- Remembering preference settings
Cookies are small text files containing small amounts of information, which are automatically downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. We do not use cookies to obtain or store personal information. At any time, you can set your cookie preferences using your browser.
Google Analytics is Google’s web and traffic analytics tool. CPCS uses this third-party tool to collect statistical information about the use of our website such as number of visits, their duration and socio-demographic data such as language and country location.
What about contact information?
Personal information collected is, but not limited to, when you subscribe to our newsletter or a webinar, submit a contact form, call us, write or email us. Contact information may include your name, title, company name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
If, for example, you ask us for marketing material, subscribe to our mailing list or give us your business card, we will keep your contact information in a database so that we can contact you in the future. If you don’t want this, please tell us, and we will remove your name.
Email messages sent by CPCS will give you the opportunity to update your contact details and mailing list preferences or unsubscribe from our mailing lists altogether.
We use a number of third-party service providers to manage our data collection. This includes tools such has, but not limited to, surveys, recruiting, newsletters and webinars. For example, we may use Eventbrite or SurveyMonkey.
How we use aggregate analytical information and contact information:
- To improve and optimize our website
- To generate aggregate insights
- To promote our services
- To develop services and conduct research
- To handle feedback respectfully
- To send digital newsletters
- To provide accurate billing
- To perform the agreements concluded with you
Who receives the data collected by CPCS?
Our third-party service providers receive all sorts of data. Data related to job applications, email and webinar subscriptions, surveys or website analytics is automatically stored by third parties.
Recruiting at CPCS
We do not ask for personal information that is not required. Providing us with required personal data is a condition for potential and/or continued employment at CPCS. If you do not wish to provide any personal data, you will not be able to work at CPCS.
CPCS may thoroughly investigate your work experience, education and personal history by verifying the data given in the application for employment, related papers or oral interviews.
Privacy policy changes
CPCS will from time-to-time review and revise its privacy practices and this privacy policy. In the event of any changes, a notice will be posted on our website and on this page.

We know that you care how we use information about you, and we appreciate your trust in us to do that carefully and sensibly.
This Notice is applicable to:
- Candidates applying for employment with CPCS and its affiliated companies.
- External experts, which are Subcontractors, Partners, and Associates interested in contracting with CPCS and its affiliated companies.
What personal data does CPCS collect about you, and how do we use it?
The company within the CPCS group that you are applying to or are contracting with, controls what personal data is collected and how it is used. In some countries, this is referred to as the “controller”.
The personal data we collect from you helps us manage the recruiting, hiring and contracting process with you.
We may collect and use some or all of the following categories of personal data about you:
- Identification data
- Contact information
- Demographic data
- Data regarding responses to screening questions
- Background check information
- Previous employment information
- Data pertaining to work preferences and abilities
- Resume/CV data
- Information on certain health conditions (only where required by law)
- Job interview notes
- Assessment results
- Travel-related records
- Expense data
- Cookies data
Collecting and using your data enables CPCS to administer the entire personnel contracting lifecycle, including setting up an electronic job applicant file; managing your application; conducting assessments; organizing interviews, including arranging or reimbursing for your travel; providing accommodations; processing interview feedback; on-boarding; and conducting background checks and screening. Your data may also be used to notify you about other CPCS job vacancies/ contracting opportunities. We may process your personal data to meet recordkeeping and internal and external reporting responsibilities. Your data may also be used in investigations or as needed in legal proceedings.
Where does CPCS obtain your personal data?
Much of the personal data we process is obtained from you, but we also obtain personal data about you during the application process (for example, during interviews or via job assessments). Other data types may be obtained from third parties, including, for example, from recruitment agencies.
With whom does CPCS share your personal data?
Your personal data will only be shared on a need-to-know basis within CPCS where it’s lawful to do so and for legitimate purposes. CPCS takes appropriate steps to ensure that people who receive your data are bound to maintain confidentiality of the data.
In addition, we may partner with service providers such as work agencies in connection with the application and recruitment process. In providing such services, your personal data may be processed by the service provider on CPCS’s behalf for the purposes of providing the required service to CPCS.
We may share your personal data with third parties, who may act as controllers, in their own right, in other circumstances, including:
- HR services providers
- Insurance organizations
- Governmental organizations or agencies, including law enforcement
- External advisors (such as legal advisors, accountants)
- Employee benefits providers
In the case that you are an external expert (ex. Subcontractor, Partner, Associate) interested in contracting with CPCS, we may share your CV/Resume with existing or potential clients for the purposes of presenting you as a potential professional as part of a pitch process for projects.
Does CPCS transfer your personal data to countries outside the country/region in which you apply?
As a global organization headquartered in Canada, we have offices, affiliates, subsidiaries, and employees located around the world. We may transfer your personal data to countries outside the country/region where you work, for example, when we or one of our service providers uses employees or equipment in other countries.
How is your personal data secured?
We use secure systems and platforms to store your personal information and follow reasonable security procedures on how personal information is used, who sees it, and to help stop any unauthorized person accessing it.
How long does CPCS store your personal data?
If your application for employment is successful and you commence employment with CPCS, your personal data may be transferred and processed as per CPCS’s Global Employee Privacy Notice.
If your application for employment is not successful, or in the case of external experts, and depending on local laws, we will generally keep your personal data beyond the end of the application process for the purposes of (i) contacting you for future job vacancies/opportunities for contracting, (ii) to meet record keeping requirements, and (iii) for potential use in legal proceedings.
What are my rights under applicable data protection laws?
You have the following rights in connection to your data: the right to access, correct, erase, object to, restrict, transfer data, the right to withdraw consent, and to complain to a Supervisory Authority. Our business evolves constantly, and so will our Privacy Notice. We encourage you to check this Notice frequently to see recent changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Notice applies to all information that we have about you. We promise to not make modifications to our policies and practices that would reduce the protection of a candidate or external expert’s personal information we collected.
